General Hand (1 Post)
Role Summary: The General Hand will ensure a clean, organised, and secure ZCHPC environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Clean equipment, server rooms, offices, bathrooms, vehicles, and outdoor areas; maintain the ZCHPC premises.
- Ensure security by locking doors after hours.
- Mow and trim lawns.
- Set up venues for workshops and meetings.
- Prepare staff teas and lunches, including cleaning of utensils.
- Move equipment, materials, and office furniture as needed.
- At least 5 O-Level passes.
- IT qualification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
ZCHPC Internal Vacancy Announcements
Administration Officer (1 Post)
Location: Finance and Administration DepartmentKey Responsibilities:
- Maintain and track inventory of all centre equipment and items.
- Maintain an asset register and conduct annual stock inventories.
- Facilitate inquiries on the disposal of damaged and obsolete assets as recommended.
- Support the planning, coordination, and allocation of office space in consultation with management.
- Ensure proper tagging of office equipment, furniture, and fittings.
- Manage and coordinate procurement requests.
- Oversee transport and fuel management.
- Distribute stationery and allocate office provisions to staff.
- Supervise and verify the completion of repairs, replacements, and renovation projects, ensuring quality standards.
- Ensure that all offices and the surrounding environment are clean and well-maintained.
- Supervise Driver, Receptionist, and General Hand staff.
- Provide regular reports to the Finance and Administration Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance and Administration Manager.

Senior Engineer (1 Post)
Location: Supercomputing DepartmentKey Responsibilities:
- Supervise ZCHPC Systems Support projects.
- Conduct technical and user training.
- Recommend and oversee the procurement of hardware and software for systems and users.
- Supervise the administration of the HPC Data Centre systems, including 24/7 monitoring and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for equipment, staff, visitors, and clients.
- Offer support to online, onsite, and remote clients and assist engineers in setting up reliable connectivity.
- Participate in the design and development of network management and user account billing systems.
- Ensure system security.
- Assist with the HPC Data Centre systems design, installation, and configuration.
- Supervise junior Systems Support staff.
- Provide regular reports to the Deputy Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director.
- Bachelor of Science degree in High Performance Computing, Cloud Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Network Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of demonstrable experience, with time served at ZCHPC preferred.
- A recognised professional certification in High Performance Computing, Network Engineering, or Cloud Engineering is required.
- Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with confidence.
- High-level analytical and innovative thinking skills.
- Previous experience in designing and implementing parallel computing and cloud systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate with scientists, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated research capability, with a publication or innovation record in relevant areas.
Procurement Officer (1 Post)
Location: Finance and Administration DepartmentKey Responsibilities:
- Plan the procurement activities of the Centre.
- Secure the adoption of the appropriate method of procurement and prepare bidding documents in compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act.
- Follow and enforce the Centre’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Review, compare, analyse, and approve products and services to be purchased.
- Maintain inventories and accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases.
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers.
- Maintain records of purchase, pricing, and other important data.
- Review and analyse all vendors/suppliers, supply and price options.
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts.
- Ensure that the products and supplies are of high quality.
- Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
- At least a Diploma in Procurement or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a procurement officer or in a related position.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
- Ability to analyse problems and strategise for better solutions.
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
